Pengaruh Pijat Oksitosin terhadap Produksi Asi pada Ibu Postpartum di Indonesia

Abstract

ASI (breast milk) is one of the foods containing all essential nutrients sufficient for babies namely physical, psychological, social and spiritual ones. Oxytocin massage is a technique to boost milk production by massaging along the spine (Vertebrae) to the fifth or sixth Costae bones in order to stimulate the feeling of comfort and relaxation for the mother following the birthing process. This massage is conducted approximately 2-3 minutes in 2-3 times so that the secretion of the prolactin and oxytocin hormones is not hampered. The research aims to determine the effects of oxytocin massage on breast milk production in Indonesia from the previous studies in the period of 2018-2020. Systematic Review design is employed in this research by searching articles from Google Scholar database. Samples are taken using Purposive Sampling technique based on a flow diagram according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on all 12 articles that have been analyzed, the result indicates that there is an effect of oxytocin massage on milk production. It is expected that postpartum mothers, accompanied by their families, can carry out these activities routinely.
