Gambaran Penerapan PHBS pada Rumah Tangga di Kelurahan Cengkeh Turi Kecamatan Binjai Utara Kota Binjai

Abstract

Health is a human right and one of the elements of welfare that must be realized in accordance with the ideals of the Indonesian nation, as stipulated in the Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. PHBS aims to improve, maintain and protect health physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. Public awareness is still low when it comes to maintaining personal health and the surrounding environment. This study aims to identify the description of the implementation of PHBS in households in Cengkeh Turi Village, North Binjai Sub-district, Binjai City. This study employs a descriptive research method. The population is each household in lingkungan 1, 2, and 3 and the samples are 40 households located in Cengkeh Turi Village, North Binjai Sub- district, Binjai City taken by an Incidental Sampling technique. The instrument employed in this study is a household PHBS questionnaire with 10 indicators. The results find that 8 households (20%) perform PHBS or healthy households, while 32 households (80%) do not. It is recommended that health workers should always increase public knowledge or awareness concerning household PHBS through health promotion activities.
