Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that hinders the physical and mental development of a child. One of the factors that cause stunting in children is the lack of nutritional intake for children under five, especially at the level of exclusive breastfeeding in the first 1,000 days (HPK). Exclusive breastfeeding has a significant impact on cases of preventing stunting in toddlers. Mother's breast milk (ASI) has numerous ingredients that meet the baby's nutritional needs, such as nutrients, protein, fat, lactose, vitamins, and other nutritional content. The ingredients in breast milk make it possible to increase the baby's immunity against various diseases including chronic malnutrition. The objective of this research is to determine the correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Sri Padang Village, Rambutan Subdistrict, Tebing Tinggi City. The method of this research employs a questionnaire and bivariate data analysis that is carried out using the chi-square test. The results of the analysis show a value of p<0.05 (p=0.000), so it can be concluded that there is a correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Sri Padang Village, Rambutan District, Tebing Tinggi City. The research results can be used as information and as input for mothers to provide exclusive breast milk to their babies to avoid chronic malnutrition (Stunting).
