    Abstract
    Anthocephalus cadamba (Roxb) Miq, also known as white jabon, is a fast-growing plant. White jabon is widely cultivated by the community because it has benefits as a producer of pulp, tool raw materials, plywood and particle board. Sexual cultivation of jabon has obstacles where it is difficult for seeds to germinate due to dormancy. The hard membrane owned by jabon seeds becomes an obstacle to germination that occurs so that treatment is needed to soften the membrane in the seed, namely by burning. This study was conducted to show the effectiveness of the treatment in breaking the dormancy of white jabon seeds. This study used a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with three repeats. The treatment given is burning for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes and control without burning. Based on the results of the study, the highest number of germinated seeds was obtained in the 10-minute burning treatment, which was 9.33 seeds. Germination does not show significant differences based on the duration of burning. However, there was a significant difference in growth speed with the best yield at 10-minute burn at 1.34%/ethmal, the largest germination value at 10-minute burn at 0.28%/day, and the fastest average time at 10-minute burn at 8.16 days. The height of the 7th day sprouts showed no real difference with the highest growth of 3.30 cm in the 15-minute burning treatment and the 14th day showed markedly different results with the highest growth in the 10-minute burning treatment of 13.24 cm
