Introduction: Clavicle fractures contribute approximately 2.6% of all fractures and 44% to 66% of fractures around the shoulder. Most minimally displaced clavicle fractures can be successfully managed non-operatively with some form of immobilization. Currently, more and more surgeons prefer to perform surgery because the non-operative results appear to be inferior both clinically and functionally. Objective: To compare long-term clinical outcomes of conservative surgical management for clavicle fractures. Methods: This is an observational analytic study with a case control design conducted at the Haji Adam Malik General Hospital in Medan; data was taken from 2017-2019 medical records. The study sample was patients with clavicle fracture who were treated either conservatively or surgically, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data is then collected and analyzed. Results: This study was dominated by men, with an average age was 34.3636 ± 17.33 years. The most reported treatment technique for clavicle fractures was ORIF surgery with 24 people (54.5%). The highest clinical outcome score for non-ORIF surgery was 91-100; whereas in the conservative ORIF score, there was only patients with score range 91-100. This difference in the management had statistically significant results with a p value <0.05. Conclusion: Long-term clinical outcome scores were higher in patients who received ORIF treatment compared to non-ORIF treatment.en_US
