dc.description.abstract | Kulit pisang awak mengandung tanin yang merupakan salah satu inhibitor yang
dapat digunakan untuk melindungi logam dari korosi. Penelitian ini bertujuan
mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan inhibisi tanin dalam bentuk serbuk, ekstrak pekat,
dan tanin yang berasal dari kulit pisang awak pada plat besi dalam larutan asam
klorida. Variabel-variabel yang diamati antara lain metode perendaman, konsentrasi
inhibitor dan waktu perendaman. Parameter yang diteliti adalah laju korosi dan
efisiensi besi. Pada penelitian ini, laju korosi terendah dan efisiensi inhibisi tertinggi
diperoleh pada perendaman besi selama 12 hari di dalam larutan HCl dan
penambahan 2,064 g/cm2 tanin inhibitor. Pada kondisi ini, laju korosi yang dicapai
7,25 mpy dan efisiensi inhibisi sebesar 97,79 %. Laju korosi dan efisiensi inhibisi
terbaik yang dihasilkan dari inhibitor serbuk maupun ekstrak pekat diperoleh laju
korosi sebesar 19,92 mpy dan efisiensi inhibisi sebesar 93,94 % pada penambahan
inhibitor serbuk serta laju korosi sebesar 13,25 mpy dan efisiensi inhibisi sebesar
95,96 % pada penambahan inhibitor ekstrak pekat. Hasil yang diperoleh pada
penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa serbuk, ekstrak pekat dan tanin kulit pisang awak
memiliki kinerja inhibisi korosi yang baik. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Banana peel contains tannin could be used as corrosion protection of iron. This
study aims to determine the effect of tannin inhibition ability in the form of powder,
crude extract, and tannin from banana peel on corrosion inhibition of iron specimen
in hydrochloric acid solution. The variables observed are soaking method, inhibitor
concentration and immersion time. The parameters studied are corrosion rate of
iron and corrosion inhibition efficiency. In this study, the lowest corrosion rate and
highest inhibition efficiency are obtained on immersion of iron for 12 days in HCl
solution and addition of 2,064 g/cm2 tannin inhibitor. In this condition, the corrosion
rate is 7.25 mpy and the corrosion inhibition efficiency is 97.79 %. The best
corrosion rate and corrosion inhibition efficiency resulting from powder and crude
extract inhibitors obtained corrosion rate of 19.92 mpy and corrosion inhibition
efficiency of 93.94 % on the addition of powder inhibitors and corrosion rate of
13.25 mpy and corroson inhibition efficiency of 95.96 % on the addition of crude
extract inhibitors. The results showed that powder, crude extracts and tannin from
