| dc.description.abstract | This research discusses Shinto values in the performance of the Kuchikamizake ritual, which has a long history in Japanese culture and is often related to traditional ceremonies and spiritual values. The purpose of this research is to describe the performance and understand the Shinto values contained in the ritual. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique used a study technique of reviewing books, literature, notes and existing reports, then continued with the observation technique. One of the main data sources in this research is the novel and animated movie Kimi No Nawa by Makoto Shinkai. This research reveals some Shinto values that are manifested in the Kuchikamizake ritual. (1) Reflects respect for ancestors and Japanese tradition. (2) Connects humans with nature. (3) It teaches simplicity and cleanliness. (4) Deep religious dimension. Kuchikamizake is considered an offering to the gods and spiritual spirits. The results of this study show that there are Shinto values contained in every step of sake brewing, namely the value of respect for ancestors and traditions, the value of connection with nature, the value of purity and cleanliness, and the value of religion as a medium for offerings to gods and spiritual spirits. In modern times, the Shinto values reflected in the performance of the Kuchikamizake ritual are no longer important to some people who make or drink Kuchikamizake. Instead, other values such as freedom, creativity, exploration, or fun become more prominent and attractive to many people. | en_US |
