This research aims to determine the level of author collaboration and the reasons authors collaborate. The study is descriptive research with a bibliometric approach. The subjects were 215 collaborating authors. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The data were collected using a documentation technique by downloading articles on the Cancer Cell journal website. The research shows that the overall collaboration level score is in interval 1, the collaboration level measurement is in interval zero to one. The authors who conducted a lot of collaborative research in 2020 came from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA 6 times. The authors who conducted a lot of collaborative research in 2021 came from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, USA 4 times. The authors who conducted a lot of collaborative research in 2022 came from the Stanford University School of Medicine, USA 4 times. Only 1.86% of the total population answered the research questionnaire with varying answer results. The research concludes: from the items of good contribution in terms of intellectually conducting research and workload sharing with fellow authors, the respondents answered that they strongly agree to collaborate. From the items of building expertise in collecting and analyzing data processing, trusting each other, feeling suitable to work with other authors, wanting to increase the amount of productivity in conducting research, and sharing information about the discipline being researched, the respondents answered that they agreed to collaborate. From the items of open communication without the need for formal meetings, sharing experiences with fellow authors, and collaboration because of the costs of conducting research, the respondents answered that they did not agree to collaborate.
