dc.description.abstract | This research aims to determine the information dissemination at the Medan State University’s library. The study uses descriptive research methods with a quantitative approach. The subjects were active members at the Medan State University’s library, totaling 28,867 people. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula with an error rate of 10% by which 100 people were obtained through accidental sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaires, observations, and literature studies. The research shows that information dissemination at the Medan State University’s library is as follows: In general (85%) online public access catalogs and networked databases are used for giving information on collection availability, book returns, new collections, which can be accessed via mobile phone and outside the library. In general (77%) personal room/ my library namely UNIMED Library System is used for catalog search, loan numbers, delays in returning books, but cannot be used to extend book borrowings. In general (82%) the social media network used is Instagram to inform library services, library operating hours, and library events or news. In general (88%) the quick-response (QR) code is as information to enter the library. In general (83%) online reference services are used for library service information and quick response. In general (84%) the library website is used for information on news or library events, library services, and can be accessed via mobile phone. In conclusion, the average score of information dissemination at the Medan State University’s library is 83% on a scale of 100 which categorizes as very good. | en_US |
