dc.description.abstractThe objective of the research is to reveal knowledge resources in verbal humor and to classify its types in the comic strip. Tahilalats, by using Script-Based Semantic Theory of Humour (SSTH), General Theory of Verbal Humor (GTVH), and 12 types of Shade verbal humor. The data are texts on humor found in the comic strip. Tahilalats. uploaded on its Twitter (@tahilalats) in the period of January 1 March 31. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The data are gathered by conducting a listening-recording method and analyzed by using an interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman. The result of the research shows that of the 12 types of verbal humor in the 56 comic strips of each Tahilalats, 8 of them are Shade verbal humor pun (2). joke (27), satire (10), parody (4), anecdote (8) irony (4), sarcasm (2), and wit (2). The joke becomes the most dominant type of verbal humor in the comic strip of Tahilalats in the period of January 1-March 31, and parody is the least type of verbal humor. The conclusion is that each of the knowledge resources in verbal humor of the Tahilalats comic strip has the influence of humor in the comic strip of Tahilalats and becomes an important part of developing verbal humor.en_US
