Perkembangan Penyajian Kulcapi sebagai Solo Instrumen, Gendang Kulcapi dan Kulcapi dalam Gendang Kibod

Abstract

The developments that occur in the kulcapi instrument are influenced by several aspects that support a musical presentation. The developments that have occurred in the kulcapi instrument are developments in the presentation of solo instruments, gendang kulcapi, and the combination of kulcapi instruments in gendang kibod. The development of the kulcapi presentation has resulted in changes in the function of the kulcapi instrument. This research aims to describe (1) the form of presentation of the kulcapi as solo instrument, gendang kulcapi and kulcapi in gendang kibod (2) the function of the kulcapi in the development of its presentation in the Karo community. The theories used in this research are presentation theory, development theory and music function theory. In collecting data, the researcher made observations by looking at the events that occurred during this development, conducted interviews with several groups and Karo artists who were considered to be aware of this problem. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, literature study, and audio and video recordings. The results of this research show that developments in the presentation of the kulcapi have caused changes in the repertoire played on the kulcapi, apart from that developments in the presentation of the kulcapi have also resulted in changes in the function of the kulcapi.
