Tingkat Pengetahuan Tentang Rotavirus pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara
Abstract
Introduction. Rotavirus is one of the main causes of acute diarrhea in infants and children worldwide. Rotavirus infection can cause serious health impacts, including potentially life-threatening dehydration. Many Indonesians have experienced rotavirus caused by a weak immune system. Age affects the severity of rotavirus, especially in children around the age of 5 and under.Aim. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of knowledge of Rotavirus students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra. Method. the study carried out was in the form of a descriptive, namely a cross-sectional research design. In this study, the samples were students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra, batches of 2020, 2021 and 2022 and were taken using proportionate stratified random sampling. Results. The level of knowledge of students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra about Rotavirus is good with a total of 63 people (53%) having good knowledge, 52 people having sufficient knowledge (44%) and 4 people having poor knowledge (3%).
