A Description of Balimau Kasai in Malay Culture Riau
Abstract
This paper is entitled "A Description of Balimau Kasai in Malay Culture, Riau". A tradition held once a year to welcome the fasting month by the Kampar Malay community of Riau. The purpose of this research is to find out the local wisdom of the Malay community from the tradition of Mandi Balimau Kasai according to Kampar custom. The writer collects data from the internet and Malay culture, the search comes from relevant sources such as books, supported by journals and interviews. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. From the data, the meaning and function of Balimau Kasai for the people of Kampar were found. The description in this paper is based on the theory contained in a collection of several papers/journals on the internet that explain the meaning and material functions of Balimau Kasai. In writing this paper, the writer looks for references about the meaning and function of the Balimau Kasai culture. Therefore, the writer hopes that more people will know the meaning and material functions of Balimau Kasai.
