Perbandingan Pengelompokan Kabupaten/Kota di Provinsi Sumatera Utara Menggunakan Algoritma Average Linkage dan K-Means Berdasarkan Indikator Pendidikan

Abstract

In other words, education cannot be separated from human life. In other words, education cannot be separated from human life because it is the key/basic for improving quality in various sectors/fields Something that is considered quality certainly has a value that is superior to the others. The Governor of North Sumatra stated that educational equity will continue to be optimized. Grouping based on the same traits/characteristics will greatly assist in determining priority areas t o be addressed. By using clustering method s, namely the K Mean s and Average Linkage algorithms, the results obtained are clusters with similar characteristics (in 1 cluster) but differ between clusters. The best cluster of this research method is produced by the Average Linkage method. Cluster 1 consists of regencies /cities that have secondary education quality, cluster 2 consists of consistencies/cities whose education quality is middle to lower, and clust 3 consists of 1 city with the highest level of educ ation quality in North Sumatra assessed from the distribution of certified teachers, superior accredited schools and outstanding students’ year 2022.
