dc.description.abstract | Sipirok Arabica Coffee had received Geographical Indication Certification on
February 5
th 2018. Many coffee farmers in Sampean Village had joined the GIC,
but there are still coffee farmers who have not joined the GIC. The purpose of this
study was to analyze the cost comparison, revenue comparison, and income
comparison of certified sipirok coffee farmers and those without geographical
indication certification in Desa Sampean, Kecamatan Sipirok, Kabupaten Tapanuli
Selatan. The determination of the research location carried out purposively. The
sample size was determined by simple random sampling method with 61 samples of
GIC coffee farmers and 29 samples of non-GIC coffee farmers. The data analysis
method used is price analysis and t-test statistical analysis (Independent Sample T Test). The results of the was study show that the selling price of GIC sipirok coffee
was Rp.200,000/kg, while the non-GIC sipirok coffee price was Rp.80,000/kg.
There was a significant difference between the production costs of GIC coffee
farmers and non-GIC coffee farmers, where the annual production cost of GIC
coffee was Rp.21,385,602/Ha, while the annual production costs of non-GIC coffee
farmers were Rp.7,613,940/Ha. There was a significant difference between the
experience of GIC coffee farmers and non-GIC coffee farmers, where the annual
income of GIC coffee was Rp. 48,597,349/Ha, while the annual income of non-GIC
