dc.description.abstract | Kualuh River is a river located in Gunting Saga, North Labuhanbatu Regency,
North Sumatra Province. In this river there are many community activities that take
place such as bathing, sand mining, agriculture, transportation and fisheries. Baung
fish (Mystus nemurus) is usually found in the Kualuh river which has calm water or
slowly flowing waters. Baung fish is in great demand because it has high nutritional
content, good taste, large body size, thick meat with few thorns. Baung fish have a
high tolerance to poor aquat ic environmental conditions, such as polluted water or
lack of oxygen. Therefore, Baung Fish can be found in waters contaminated by
waste or garbage. Coliform bacteria are generally not found in clean water, only
found in human or animal feces. If coliforms are present, this indicates pathogenic
contamination and can cause diseases such as diarrhea. The purpose of this study is
to determine the contamination of Coliform bacteria and E. coli in Baung fish (M.
nemurus) from the Kualuh River and determine water quality based on physical,
chemical, biological parameters in Kualuh River water. . This research will be
carried out in June-July 2023 at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and
Natural Sciences (MIPA) University North Sumatra. This research uses a
combination method, namely quantitative-qualitative. The calculation results based
on the MPN Index on 9 samples of Baung Fish found in the Kualuh River do not
meet the quality requirements of fresh fish based on SNI number 7388: 2009 that
the quality requirements of fresh fish, namely APM Escherichia coli <3 / g | en_US |
