Food sources are a very important factor for Indonesian society. One of the food
ingredients is protein, protein is divided into two, namely animal and vegetable.
Indonesian population's consumption of animal protein, although still below that
of ASEAN countries, shows an increase every year. The fisheries sector can be a
mainstay in providing quality food sources at affordable prices in order to increase
people's protein consumption. Catfish is an economically important fish commodity
whose supply is currently needed by the community. The high consumption of
catfish from year to year causes high demand for catfish cultivation. Cultivation
activities still experience various problems regarding maximum feed utilization and
the success rate of fish harvesting which affects fish stocks on the market. There is
a need for innovation in providing fish feed as the main nutrition provided by
adding natural ingredients, namely Indigofera leaves (Indigofera zollingeriana)
which can have a significant impact on the growth and mortality of cultivated
catfish. The method used is the variance data analysis method (ANOVA). The
treatment of adding Indigofera leaf flour (Indigofera zollingeriana) with different
feeding rates to commercial feed showed results that had a very real effect on
increasing the weight and length growth of catfish.
