Penentuan Kadar Amonia (NH3) pada Limbah Cair Industri dengan Metode Spektrofotometri UV-Visible di UPT. Laboratorium Lingkungan Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Abstract
Research on the determination of Ammonia (NH₃) levels in industrial
wastewater has been carried out at UPT. Laboratory of the Environment Laboratory of
North Sumatra Province. Determination of Ammonia levels (NH₃) Phenate with
sodium hypochlorite that reacts in ammonia solution to form chloroamine
compounds (NH₂Cl) then reacts with phenolic reagents to form quinone monochlorin
compounds so that they react with the remaining phenolic reagents to form blue
indophenol compounds, after which the solution is measured using a UV-Visible
Spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 640 nm. From the measurement results,
calculations were then carried out on samples with codes 96 / LC, 97 / LC, 98 /
LC,99/LC and 105/LC, mg/L; namely NH₃ levels of 4,9735 mg/L; 7,68985 mg/L;
1,967 mg / L; 5,0951 mg/L; and 4,1071mg/L . Based on the Regulation of the
Minister of Environment No. 03 of 2010 concerning wastewater quality standards for
industrial areas, liquid waste with sample codes 96 / LC, 97 / LC, 98/LC, 99/LC and
105 / LC has met the requirements of the NH₃ quality standard with a maximum level
of 20 mg / L.
