“Psychological Well Being“ pada Tukang Parkir Perempuan di Kecamatan Medan Baru
Abstract
Psychological Well Being is a term to describe a person's mental health status in
terms of functional criteria based on a good soul, making decisions, being
independent and in control, including the environment, their own goals and the
feeling that they can go through the stages of developing their own strengths in
life, where examine the achievement of psychological well-being by female
parking attendants by adapting to environmental conditions or changing behavior,
traits, attitudes, lifestyles to overcome obstacles and difficulties in their
environment. This research was conducted in Medan Baru District using one key
informant and six regular informants. Data collection techniques use a qualitative
approach with research techniques in the form of observation, interviews and
documentation. So that in the end conclusions can be drawn from the results of
the research. The research results showed that six informants had proven freedom
and the ability to develop themselves, but six informants did not show
environmental control. The dimensions of life goals and good social relationships
have been demonstrated by the six informants and show self-acceptance, as well
as the existence of factors that influence the psychological well-being of female
parking attendants. Cultural factors such as gender roles, social values and norms
and social support play an important role in determining the psychological well being achievements of informants.
