dc.description.abstractThis study aims to describe the internal and external conflicts faced by the main characters and explain how the main characters resolve the conflicts in the Korean movie ‘’Hearty Paws’’. This method used in this study is qualitative descriptive method. The data source in this study is the Korean movie ‘’Hearty Paws’’.The conflict is described based on the conflict theory proposed by Kenney (1966:5) who divides conflict into two types, internal and external conflict. The results of this study showed that there are three main characters. They are Chan Yi, So Yi and a dog named Hearty. External conflicts faced by the main characters are Character versus Character, Character versus Society and Character versus nature. Meanwhile, Internal conflict faced by the main characters are traumatizing loss, fear and feeling disappointed. Problem solving of the conflict is Chan-yi forgives his mother's mistake. Chan-yi finally able to let go of his younger sister and his pet. He finally live together with his mother.en_US
