    Abstract
Papaya leaves contain the enzyme papain which can stimulate the villi in the intestines of broiler chickens, so that they can be used as alternative feed. This study aims to determine the effect of adding papaya leaf flour in feed on live weight, slaughter weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage of broiler chickens. The research was carried out at the Research and Entrepreneurial Cage as well as the Animal Production Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. in December 2022 – January 2023. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment consisted of P0 = control feed; P1 = addition of 1,5% papaya leaf powder; P2 = addition of 2,5% papaya leaf powder; P3 = addition of 3,5% papaya leaf powder. Parameters observed were live weight, slaughter weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage of broiler chickens. The results showed that the use of papaya leaf flour in broiler rations had a significant effect (P<0,05) on live weight, slaughter weight and carcass weight with the highest average in P2 and the lowest in P0, but did not have a significant effect (P>0,05) on the percentage broiler chicken carcasses. The conclusion of this study is the use of papaya leaf flour in rations can increase live weight, slaughter weight, and carcass weight of broiler chickens, but there is no increase in broiler carcass percentage with the best dose of papaya leaf flour, namely 2,5%.
