The human development index plays an important role in measuring or determining achievement in the development of the quality of life and development ranking of a country. By increasing the level of the section forming the human development index, it will greatly affect all aspects, both in terms of quality of life, health, longevity and improving the quality of human resources. This study aims to find out how the expected length of schooling, average length of schooling, and per capita expenditure affect the human development index. The results of this study partially show that the average length of schooling and per capita expenditure have a significant effect on the human development index, while the expected number of years of schooling has no significant effect on the human development index. The results of the study also simultaneously have a significant effect at a significant level of 5% on the human development index.en_US
