Eksistensi Etnis Batak Angkola di Wilayah Tapanuli Selatan (Studi Etnografi Tentang Keberadaan Etnis Angkola di Tapanuli Selatan)

Abstract

This study aims to examine the existence of Angkola Batak ethnicity in the South Tapanuli region. In this ethnographic study, researchers studied the existence of Angkola ethnicity and the factors that influence its survival amid social, cultural, and economic changes in the region. The research method used is data collection through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. The results showed that the Angkola Batak ethnicity still has a strong existence in the South Tapanuli region. There are still several angkola ethnic cultures that are still carried out, namely Palakka boru, Mangupa boruro, Manggodangkon daganak tubu, Marbokkot bagas naimbaru, siluluton / hamatean traditional assembly, ni boru na marbagas and Maligin Ari. Not to mention the preservation of some relics of the royal house such as the temples of Bahal Portibi and Bagas Godang Portibi and several other kingdoms. The angkola ethnic community in South Tapanuli also established the Inter-Customary Institutions Forum (FORKALA), the Stakeholder Body (BPA), special groups established on Facebook, such as Angkola Culture Lovers (PABUA), and the youth and women organization NNB (Naposo Nauli Bulung) as a way to maintain the existence of angkola culture.
