dc.description.abstract | This research is entitled Semiotics Analysis of Representation of Batak Toba Culture in Ngeri Ngeri Sedap Movie. This research aims to find out how the representation of Batak Toba culture
contained in the movie Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap by Bene Dion Rajagukguk. This research uses a
qualitative approach with an interpretative method that requires researchers to argue in
interpreting the object under study. The data collection method used in this research is collected
directly from the scenes shown in the movie and by library research. This research uses Roland
Barthes' semiotic analysis which consists of denotation, connotation and myth. The result of
this research are 8 scenes that have been analyzed using denotative and connotative levels. The
Batak Toba culture displayed in this film is through the daily habits of its people, buildings in
the form of traditional houses, typical Batak Toba food, musical instruments and traditional
Batak Toba fabrics or better known as ulos, to displaying the traditional Batak Toba event,
namely sulang-sulang pahompu. | en_US |
