A Description of Figure of Speech in Joseph Vincent’s Selected Song Lyrics

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the types of majas found in Joseph Vincent's selected songs. In completing this paper, the researcher uses a qualitative method. The steps in selecting the selected songs are by randomly selecting song titles to represent the meaning of eleven songs contained in one album. Then the researcher can find the types of majas in the lyrics of Joseph Vincent's songs, namely metaphor, hyperbole, association, and personification and the most dominant majas contained in the song lyrics are metaphor. Through this paper, it is hoped that readers can understand the use of majas and types of majas in this song, so that the message can reach the listeners of the song.
