dc.description.abstractThis research discusses the dual roles experienced by housewives who work in Balige District. This research aims to describe the dual roles of housewives who also work and describe the strategies of housewives who also work in carrying out dual roles. The research method used is a qualitative research method with descriptive data analysis. Research was conducted using a gender perspective to explain dual roles. The data in this research is primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained using participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation data collection techniques. Secondary data was obtained through books, journals and internet sites that are related to this research. The informants in this research were housewives who were married, had children, and had jobs in Balige District. The research results show that working housewives play three roles in their lives, namely reproductive, production and social roles. In carrying out dual roles, working housewives are faced with obstacles or challenges. The obstacle or challenge in carrying out three roles at once is the lack of time for both yourself and your family. The way to overcome these obstacles is to provide special time to rest and use the help of other peopleen_US
