Interaksi Sosial di Kedai Kopi sebagai Ruang Publik Privat (Studi Kasus di Sarang Kopi Kota Tebing Tinggi)
Abstract
This thesis explains that the public space created by the private sector in
Sarang Kopi Kota Tebing Tinggi provides a place for the surrounding community
to interact with each other such as with friends and new people. Social
interactions that occur in Sarang Kopi have various forms of patterns where
interaction patterns will not always be the same in individuals or groups so that
this research is to understand how humans interact with each other and form a
relationship. The purpose of this thesis research is to find out the process of
forming social interactions, understand the form of interaction patterns that occur
in this space and explain the form of private public space in Sarang Kopi Kota
Tebing Tinggi.
This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data
was collected through direct observation of the activities of visitors and
employees working in the Sarang Kopi. As well as through interviews with
visitors and employees to answer the problems raised in this thesis as well as to
the owner and manager to provide additional information to complement the data
in this study.
The results of this study obtained the form of interaction patterns that
occur in Sarang Kopi in the form of interactions between visitors, visitor
interactions with employees, employee interactions with old and new visitors and
interactions that occur between fellow employees. Sarang Kopi as a public place
owned by individuals provides access to all levels of society to freely carry out
activities in it so that this shop is utilized by visitors as a meeting place, place of
relaxation, place of work, place of information and place of interaction. This
illustrates that Sarang Kopi as a private public space can demonstrate good spatial
quality by showing a responsive, democratic and meaningful space.
