Kerjasama dalam Rangkaian Acara Adat Baralek Pada Masyarakat Minangkabau di Nagari Sicincin, Kecamatan 2x11 Enam Lingkung, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman
Abstract
The implementation of the baralek event carried out by the Minangkabau
ethnic community is strongly influenced by traditional rules. The organizers need a
lot of help to comply with the customary rules. The implementation of cooperation
in the baralek traditional event in the Minangkabau community in Nagari Sicincin
involves several parties with their respective roles and functions. However, today's
culture of cooperation has experienced many changes in its forms and practices.
This is caused by modernization, thereby encouraging society to adapt to
developments over time. Existing cultures or customs have undergone many
changes and updates.
The research was conducted using qualitative research methods with an
ethnographic approach. Data collection in this research was carried out by
conducting direct observations of collaborative activities at the Baralek event and
conducting interviews with the organizers and several relatives involved. Apart
from that, documentation was also created to complement the data obtained.
The results of this research show that there are several forms of cooperation
carried out by the community in Nagari Sicincin during the stages of the baralek
traditional event. Many of the collaborative activities are carried out by members
of the extended family and relatives of the same tribe who live in the same
neighborhood as the organizers. The flow of modernization has given rise to
innovations in people completing work, namely by using paid services to help with
some of the work in the kitchen, such as cooking and washing utensils.
The traditional baralek event carried out by the Minangkabau community
in Nagari Sicincin involves a lot of the role of the family in carrying out cooperative
activities. The form of cooperation carried out by the family during the Baralek
traditional event assists in the form of energy, thoughts, equipment, and money.
This makes the cooperation carried out by the people of Nagari Sicincin a form of
cooperation. The presence of service providers to help with work during the Baralek
traditional event does not change the tradition of community cooperation but rather
becomes an innovation in saving energy and time.
