dc.description.abstractTransportation is a basic need for every group, which functions to move passengers and goods from one place to another and facilitate relations with other places. One way to meet the needs of transportation services is by providing city transportation services. The Trans Metro Deli Bus is a bus-based transportation facility and infrastructure presented by the Medan City Government together with the Medan City Transportation Service which is expected to become a better urban public transportation in terms of performance and service to users of public transport services. The problems encountered in the field were reckless drivers, passengers waiting for a long time at bus stops, and also the lack of socialization by the Medan City Transportation Service to passengers. This study aims to find out how the performance of the Medan City Transportation Service in the Context of Optimizing the Safety Assurance of Public Transport Passengers in Medan City (Study on the Trans Metro Deli Bus). The research method used in this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The data were obtained and analyzed qualitatively using the performance analysis proposed by Robbins, namely quality, quantity, initiative, cooperation and responsibility. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the Medan City Transportation Service in the Context of Optimizing the Safety Assurance of Public Transport Passengers in Medan City has been going well, but there is still a need for supervision and a high sense of responsibility for the implementation and running of the Trans Metro Deli Bus and to further improve socialization and good communication with passengers to attract their interest in always using the bus because it guarantees safety, security and comfort.en_US
