| dc.description.abstract | In any institution or organization, human factors play a greater role in generating a
more progressive orientation. Apart from the need for high work morale, the
Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise in North Sumatra,
especially the General Section, also needs a conducive work environment for its
employees to be able to channel their performance towards office success. If
employees do not do a decent job, the expected results will not be met and the
results will not be as expected. To achieve the goals of the North Sumatra
Directorate General of Customs and Excise, especially the General Section, more
effectively, employees are needed who have high work enthusiasm. In addition, a
positive work environment is needed to increase morale and improve employee
performance. A pleasant and supportive work environment can increase the
morale of employees at the North Sumatra Directorate General of Customs and
Excise, especially the General Department, because a complete environment and
facilities will encourage employees to do their work well, feel happy, and avoid
laziness thereby increasing work morale in carrying out his task. In this research,
