    Abstract
    Indonesia has a tourism sector that has developed so rapidly and even reaches out to the countryside. One of the benefits that can be obtained is human resources, especially people who have potential such as cultural heritage, local traditions, handicrafts, and special culinary. Each village has the potential to become a leading tourism commodity. But usually the problems that are often faced by a village that has tourism potential are such as the lack of good road infrastructure, bridges, electricity, water pipelines, communication networks and others. In addition, problems can also be non-physical, but social. This study aims to see how the socio-cultural conditions of the local community are after the existence of the Pelaruga Tourism Village in Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. make a sustainable tourism village. This research method uses qualitative methods to give an overview of how the development of Pelaruga tourism villages is carried out by managers and the local community. Researchers carry out this by taking samples using observation and interview techniques for visitor respondents and the local community. The results obtained are the potential that this tour can offer, namely waterfalls, rivers, beautiful natural scenery, and springs. Pelaruga tourism has great potential to make tourism sustainable. However, it has not developed optimally From the results of this research, the Pelaruga tourism village needs tourism management and government participation in the tourism village development program and makes the Pelaruga tourism village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, able to develop optimally
