This research discusses marriage in the Angkola Batak ethnic culture,
which is one of the tribes in Indonesia with a rich cultural heritage. The purpose
of this study is to understand the tradition of marriage in the Angkola Batak
culture, including the customs, symbols, and processes involved in the celebration
of the marriage. In writing this paper, the author uses a qualitative descriptive
method to examine and explain Angkola Batak marriage by considering the roles
of mora, anak boru, and khangi. The author collected some relevant sources from
alumni papers and copied some information to be used as references. customary
texts, books, journals and other sources that discuss marriage in the context of the
Angkola Batak culture. The results showed that marriage in Angkola Batak
culture has unique and complex characteristics, reflecting the traditional values
upheld by the Angkola Batak community. This research provides insight into the
importance of the sustainability of the Angkola Batak ethnic culture through the
tradition of marriage. A better understanding of marriage in this culture, cultural
diversity in Indonesia and maintaining a rich cultural heritage in the midst of
changing times. This research can also serve as a foundation for further research
on other aspects of the Angkola Batak culture and their marriage practices.
