This paper describes figurative language and imagery in Sam Smith's selected songs. The purpose of this research is to improve understanding and to find out the types of figurative language and imagery used in Sam Smith's selected songs. Based on Pradopo's theory, there are five types of figurative language found by the writer in this paper, consisting of simile, metaphor, hyperbole, synecdoke and Personification. In the imagery section, the writer only focuses on five types of imagery as well, consisting of visual imagery, auditory imagery, tactile imagery, Olfactory imagery and kinesthetic imagery. This research uses a qualitative description method. From the explanation above, it can be concluded that in describing the lyrics in addition to finding figurative language and imagery in the lyrics, the meaning of the song that contains figurative language and imagery from the song can be understood.en_US
