Pembuatan dan Karakterisasi Beton Polimer Berbasis Abu Sekam Padi dan Cangkang Kemiri dengan Menggunkan Resin Epoxy
Abstract
Research has been carried out for the manufacture of polymer concrete by utilizing sand, rice husk ash, hazelnut shell ash and epoxy resin. The samples were prepared using a 120 mesh sieving stage, mixing the ingredients with a composition of sand and rice husk ash (1:1) and hazelnut shell ash (0,4,8,16,20)gr and epoxy resin (30,35)gr, then hot compressed at 90 ºC for 20 minutes using the hot press method. Parameters observed were physicals test (density, porosity, and water absorption), mechanical tests (tensile strength, flexural strength, and compressive strength), as well as microstructure and elemental content tests using SEM-EDX. The test results show that the optimum physical properties for density 1,710 g/cm3, porosity 5,15 %, and water absorption 4,351%. Tensile strength of 3,92 Mpa, Fexural strength 3,29 MPa, and the compressive strength 20,60 MPa. As well as the esults of the morphological and elemental analysis showed the formed pores, the distribution of the epoxy, and the elements loaded on the polymer concrete samples.
