dc.description.abstract | Research has been carried out on the manufacture of bioplastics and chitosan with sorbitol plasticizer made using the melt intercalation method on variations of starch (porang/beneng) versus chitosan 30% : 70%, 40% : 60%, 50% : 50%, 60% : 40%, and 70%: 30% added sorbitol plasticizer with variations of 40%, 60% and 80%. Characterization carried out using physical and mechanical testing obtained tensile strength and elongation test values for the BPBA5 sample with a value of 3.671 Mpa; 19.9328%, BPBB4 sample with a value of 2.614 Mpa; 25.452%, BPBC1 sample with a value of 2.287 Mpa; 27,500%. And the respective water absorption tests were 35.18%; 36.07%; 28.57%. The degradability test showed a mass reduction over 28 days with the highest percentage of each variation of starch and chitosan by adding sorbitol plasticizer reaching 26.90%. The SEM results show that there is still mixing between starch and a less homogeneous solution as evidenced by several spots on the bioplastic which are still white, and the same groups are obtained between the bioplastic constituents, namely O-H, C-H, and N-H. | en_US |
