| dc.description.abstract | This research was conducted because they wanted to know how
the perspectives and views of FISIP USU students in choosing to subscribe to the
Netflix application This study aims to analyze in depth and descriptively about
what factors make FISIP USU students choose to subscribe to the Netflix
application and its positive and negative impacts. The research method used was
data collection through participatory observation and in-depth interviews using
interview guide guidelines. The results showed that the reasons FISIP USU
students chose to subscribe to the Netflix streaming application were job
differences, hobby differences and gender differences. In addition, the level of
ease of use of Netflix, subscription prices with the features provided, social
changes from the surrounding environment are also one of the reasons why FIISP
USU students prefer to subscribe to the Netflix application. As for the positive
impact of subscribing to Netflix is getting new knowledge, entertaining as well as
various features and types of movies. For the negative impact is reduced
interaction with many people, gives an addictive effect and is ineffective in
