Sekuritas Sosial dalam Keberlangsungan Hidup Keluarga Pra Sejahtera di Desa Sukajadi Serdang Bedagai Sumatera Utara
Abstract
This study discusses social security in the survival of underprivileged families in
Sukajadi Village, Serdang Bedagai District, North Sumatra Province. The purpose
of this study is to explore in-depth, describe the efforts of underprivileged families
to establish a family economy (survival), and describe forms of social security and
the experiences of underprivileged families in receiving social assistance in
Sukajadi Village. This research use qualitative research with ethnographic
methods and a case study approach to 10 underprivileged families in Sukajadi
Village. Data was collected using data collection techniques in the form of field
observations, in-depth interviews, field documentation, and verbatim notes. In
addition to coming from 10 underprivileged families, the informants in this study
included 6 other informants, making a total of 16 informants. The results of the
study show that there are various efforts of underprivileged families to live a life,
including doing the main job to going on walks. Furthermore, there are two types
of social security in Sukajadi Village including (i) formal social security
originating from government institutions, (ii) and non-formal/traditional social
security originating from relatives, benefactors, neighbors, and so on. Social
security plays an important role in the survival of underprivileged families in
Sukajadi Village. This is indicated by the existence of found in Sukajadi Village.
Social security is utilized by underprivileged families in fulfilling their daily
needs
