the Mangupa Pangaranto tradition. The method used in this research is a descriptive
method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using observation,
in-depth interviews, and documentation. The technique for determining informants
was purposive sampling technique. The theoretical basis used in this study is the
Theory of Social Action put forward by Max Weber. Weber stated that action is a
subjective meaning to open and closed behavior that is subjective considering the
behavior of others. The results of this study indicate that in the implementation of
the mangupa pangaranto tradition, the people who are present as participants or
actors can be analyzed into a social action based on several types of action, namely
traditional action, instrumental rationality action, value rationality action, and
affective action. In this study, other results were found, namely first, the social
action theory expressed by Max Weber revealed that in carrying out the mangupa
pangaranto tradition, each process has meaning and behind the meaning contained,
it is hoped that it can bring blessings to an individual who participates. This
meaning has been believed and trusted by the community since long ago because
this tradition is an inheritance. Second, the implementation of the mangupa
pangaranto tradition involves many individuals from various groups. The
involvement of other people outside the family who have activities, is considered
to have their respective duties and roles. Third, the mangupa pangaranto tradition
contains socio-cultural values that are created because of the interactions that occur
when this tradition is carried out. | en_US |
