dc.description.abstract | North Sumatra has seen an increase in drug abuse cases over time. An increase of
73 instances occurred in 2021, and an additional 104 cases were added the
following year. Researchers are interested in studying how former drug users
adjust to the atmosphere at the Medan Insyaf Center as a result of this
considerable increase. According to research, a lack of resilience is one of the
reasons why so many people relapse into drug usage. First, the residents of Sentra
Insyaf Medan are strengthened by their strong aims, commitment, positive self esteem or self-assessment, good spirituality, and capacity for maintaining
pleasant emotions. The loss of satisfying activities to which one has grown
accustomed, the inability to gauge one's readiness before leaving the
rehabilitation facility, and the inability to exercise self-control once one has
returned to society all contribute to one's weakness. Social support, especially
from family members, the presence of a community designed to be an integral part
of therapy, such as a therapeutic community, and in-depth instruction of taught
coping techniques are just a few of the opportunities that can be taken advantage
of. Last but not least, the invitations from old friends and the stigma or perception
of society in the previous setting are threats that residents of the Medan Insyaf
Center must be cautious of. | en_US |
