dc.description.abstract | At the beginning of 2020, the world was shocked by the spread of a new virus called
Covid-19. This pandemic affects all aspects of life such as health, economy, education, and
even spiritual activities. The church as a social institution for the Christian community is also
not spared from its impact. Every church activity experiences obstacles in carrying out its
activities. Through this article, the author would like to review diakonia, which was one of the
best activities of GBKP during the Covid-19 Pandemic and how the adaptation strategies were
carried out. Diakonia is a service activity inside and outside the church. It is important for the
church to determine steps to ensure that services and worship are running for the congregation.
This research was conducted using qualitative methods in the form of case studies and data
collection through interviews, observation and literature review. The research subjects were the
Pokok Mangga GBKP congregation, especially Permata, which is trying to adapt to this
pandemic so that they can still carry out diakonia and other spiritual activities. The results of
the study show that a decrease in spiritual effectiveness is unavoidable and causes controversial
events to occur in the GBKP Pokok Mangga congregation. The adaptation process must be
carried out immediately so that the church does not lose its function. All kinds of strategies
must be carried out to continue church activities, especially diakonia. Permata, as a youth
association of GBKP Pokok Mangga, which also carries out diakonia, has also felt the impact
of the Covid-19 Pandemic | en_US |
