Recently, photodetectors are essential for various industrial and scientific applications, including optical communication, environmental monitoring, and Medicine delivery, health monitors, power supplies, optoelectronic devices, various sensors. A laser diode photodetector with a wavelength of 1.3μm has been designed. The use of this photodetector is to detect as well as convert the received light energy into electrical energy and can be used in the long term. Making this photodetector by using semiconductor materials, namely InGaAs (Indium Gallium Arsenide), capacitors, trimpots, OP AMP EVM boards which already have an amplifier IC OPA2380. Using Single-Mode type optical fiber to be the connecting media and transmission media. Testing/measurement has been carried out using a Laser Diode, as a light source which has a wavelength of 1.3μm. From the results when testing / measuring using laser diodes and optical fiber the resulting power is Voltage Gain (dB) = +12.422, where the input voltage is amplified 12 times which makes the voltage stronger and SNR (dB) = 40.46. With the photodetector gain measurement results, it has stable power but the noise is a little higher but still tolerable.
