A Description of Social Class and Moral Values in A Movie Divergent

Abstract

The title of this paper is "A description of Social class and Moral Values in a movie divergent" the aims of this study were (1) to describe the Social class in divergent movie, (2) to describe the moral values in divergent movie. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research type. The object under study is the divergent film. The data in this study are in the form of dialogues and scenes that contain social class and moral values in the film. The data source used is a divergent film script. The results of this study indicate that (1) There are five social classes depicted in Divergent films including : Abnegation (The Selfless), Erudite (The Intelligent), Amity (The Peacefull), Candor (The Honest), and Dauntless (The Brave). (2) the writer finds that there are seven types of moral values based on Suseno's theory there are : honesty , be yourself, be responsible, independence, courage, humility, and critical.
