Abstract
A tourist destination is a place that someone will use as a destination to spend time while enjoying the beauty that exists. Because it is more related to traveling and sightseeing activities, of course, the parties related to this are very familiar with the term, such as travel agencies and the tourists themselves. The purpose of this study aims to determine the development of Sidamanik Tea
Plantation into a sustainable tourist attraction in North Sumatra, to find out how Sidamanik Tea Plantation became a Tourist Destination, and to determine the social and economic impact of Sidamanik Tea Plantation on the economy of local communities.
Field data shows that Sidamanik Tea Plantation has great potential to become a sustainable tourist destination in North Sumatra. With stunning panoramas of tea plantations, unique flora and fauna, and local wisdom of the surrounding community, this destination can attract tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of nature and culture. The sustainable development of Sidamanik Tea Plantation can have a positive impact on the economy of local communities through various ways, such as job opportunities in the tourism sector, local handicraft businesses, homestays, and community empowerment in destination management and promotion. Thus, the development of sustainable tourist destinations in the Sidamanik Tea Plantation has the potential to increase income, welfare, and economic opportunities for the surrounding community.
