Tingkat Pengetahuan Mahasiswa Kedokteran Tentang Serebral Palsi Diskinetik di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Introduction. Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy is a subgroup of Cerebral Palsy, namely a heterogeneous clinical syndrome that causes injury to the brain. Typical of Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy occurs during the perinatal period. Cerebral palsy is a statistical condition that causes the degree of severity and type of motor impairment to be permanent. Affected children will have abnormal muscle tone, posture and movement that limit their daily activities. Objective. The aim of the research is to describe students' knowledge about Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy with the research title "The Level of Knowledge of Medical Students About Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy at the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra". Method. This research uses a descriptive research design with a cross-sectional study approach. The population was 1241 students and the sample selected was 108 students using consecutive sampling techniques. The research was conducted via Google Forms in the form of a questionnaire. Results and Discussion. The general research results were generally good for each class with the highest level of good knowledge in the 2018 class with 18 respondents (75.0%) followed by the 2019 class with 11 respondents (45.8%), the 2020 class with 16 respondents (80.0% ), class of 2021 with 6 respondents (30.0%) and class of 2022 with 4 respondents (20.0%). Conclusion. The level of knowledge of pre-clinical students is good in the class of 2020 and in the class of 2018 of clinical students (P3D).
