Introduction. Scabies, better known as kudis, is a skin disease caused by infestation of the ectoparasite Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis. In healthy individuals of young adulthood, scabies is often considered as a problem that disturbs and slows down activities because the itching sensation. The transmission of scabies is mostly through skin-to-skin contact. Several environmental factors are considered to greatly contribute to the increase in the incidence of scabies, such as densely populated residential environments, difficult access to clean water, low levels of knowledge, and low personal hygiene. Objectives. This study aims to analyze the association of personal hygiene and level of knowledge with the incidence of scabies in students of SMA Unggul Del Laguboti in 2023. Methods. This study used an analytic research method with a cross sectional approach. The data used is primary data derived from filling out questionnaires and skin scraping samples. Results. Of the 96 respondents, 57 people (59.4%) had a very good personal hygiene, 36 people (37.5%) had a good level of knowledge, 35 people (36.5%) had a poor level of knowledge, and based on four cardinal signs as many as 20 people (20.8%) had scabies. It was found that there was a relationship between personal hygiene (p-value 0.047) and level of knowledge (p-value 0.011) with the incidence of scabies. Conclusion. There was an association of personal hygiene and level of knowledge with the incidence of scabies in students at SMA Unggul Del Laguboti in 2023.
