    Abstract
    The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the information retrieval system and the use of e-books on the Kubuku application at the Integrated library of the Health Polytechnicof the Ministry of Health. Medan. The descriptive studyemploys students of the polytechnic who are registered as members on the Kubuku application at the Integrated Library of the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Medan. 98 students ser>·e as the sample of the study determined by accidental sampling. Observation, questionnaires, and literature studies are carried out as data collection techniques. The results of the study indicate that: first, the effectiveness of theinformation retrieval system on the Kubuku application obtained an average recall value of 56.5% and a precision of 39.3%. The precision value in the range of0.34-0.67 (34% - 67%) indicates a moderate level of precision. Second. the program's target accuracy in using £-Books is 91.5%. which means an effective use; e-book introduction program socialization achieves 66.6%: the realization of program objectives in the use of £-Boaks is 66.7%; program monitoring in the 11se of £ -Books is 68.3 % . In the end, on the the average value of 73.5% indicates that the effectiveness of 11sing £ -Books on th e Kub11ku a pplication is (·ategorized as effective. Furthermore, the information retrieval system on the Kubuku application reaches an average precision value of 39.3% which is categorized as less effective.
