Persatuan Sepakbola Kotamadya Tebing Tinggi dan Sekitarnya (PSKTS) 1968-1996
Abstract
This thesis is entitled "Football Association of Tebing-Tinggi Municipality and Surrounding Areas 1968-1996". This is research that aims to find out the background to the founding of PSKTS from the initial conditions of football in Tebing-Tinggi before PSKTS was founded, the best achievements of PSKTS, to the hiatus of PSKTS in the Indonesian League era. In this research, methods are used as a reference in writing history, namely Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. The data used in this research comes from interviews, literature studies, and also newspaper archives. The results of this research show that PSKTS was founded during the time of Mayor Samsul Sulaiman in 1968, the establishment of PSKTS was the result of support and agreement between plantation and city clubs in Tebing-Tinggi and the surrounding areas, where they created an association as a forum for football activities. ball centered on the Cliff-High. PSKTS is a club that has been successful as a forum for football in Tebing Tinggi during the United era, with several achievements such as winning the 1971 Marah Halim Cup, 1974. Suratin Cup 1986-1987 Aceh/North Sumatra zone, semifinalist in the 1986-1987 Suratin Cup, and becoming champion of Division 2 of the United North Sumatra 1989 is a series of achievements that have been presented by PSKTS. Football coaching which was carried out to remote villages and plantations meant that PSKTS at that time had launched players with the Indonesian National Team label and strengthened many strong teams in the main United and Galatama divisions. Names such as Ansyari Lubis, Taufik Lubis and Effendi Marico are famous names who have been regulars with the Indonesian National Team squad in the United and Galatama eras. The three players are members of the PSKTS competition. PSKTS experienced a vacuum in 1996, this was marked by the absence of any more football activities in Tebing-Tinggi. The PSKTS vacuum was caused by many problems surrounding it, such as a lack of support from the city government, PSKTS was forced to become a commercial club, and many players moved to other clubs private.
