dc.description.abstractThe word ‘’Ngunduh’’ comes from the Javanese language which means to take something that is ripe, so the term Ngunduh Mantu can be understood as the procession of taking a son-in-law who is mature enough. If interpreted literally, Ngunduh Mantu means Memanen Menantu or more precisely getting a son-in-law. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out about the process and function of Ngunduh Mantu in Javanese tradition. The method used in this paper is collection techniques through reading and understanding books, jurnal and articles related to the Ngunduh Mantu tradition and by directly observing each Ngunduh Mantu process. The results of this research show that there are 6 stages of the Ngunduh Mantu process, namely (1) Iring-Iringan Pangombyong (2) Imbal Wicara (3) Tirto Wening (4) Sindur Binayang (5) Sungkeman (6) Ramah Tamah.en_US
