A Description of Moral Values in My Chemical Romance Selected Song Lyrics

Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe the forms of moral values My Chemical Romance songs and to describe the good and bad impacts found in the lyrics of selected My Chemical Romance songs lyrics. The theory used in this paper is Suseno's theory in book Etika Dasar Masalah-Masalah Pokok Filsafat Moral. The source of the data from this research is in the form of song lyrics from The Black Parade album entitled Welcome to the black parade, I don't love you, Cancer, Dischanted, and Mama. The method used by the researcher is a qualitative descriptive method. The forms of moral values found in this paper are honesty, being yourself, responsibility, independence, moral courage, humility, and critical. My Chemical Romance's song lyrics include many positives related to moral values. Such as honesty, being yourself, responsibility, independence, humility, and being critical.
