dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this paper is to know and understand: How the form of Gundala Gundala performance and how the meaning and function of Gundala Gundala in Karo tradition. The data of this paper is a form of tradition of the Karo people. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research by collecting books, information from the internet and Karo people. Traditions are values, ideas, beliefs, habits that are passed on from one generation to the next, such as customs, arts and others. Gundala Gundala is an art attraction in Karo Regency that uses wooden masks. This tradition aims to bring rain during the dry season because the majority of the Karo people are farmers and this rain summoning event involves mystical things. At present, this tradition is rare because people today are modern people who believe in logical things.en_US
